The Mazda CX-5 delivers better performance than the Kia Sportage


The Mazda CX-5 has always been known for its sportiness and the 2019 model is no exception. It comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, while the Kia Sportage features a four-cylinder engine producing 181 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.


The other option is a 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder that offers 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. This engine is among the most powerful in the segment overall and . It is ahead of the Sportage's optional four-cylinder turbo engine with 50 lb-ft of torque. The results are immediately noticeable on the road.


The 2019 Mazda CX-5 is more fuel efficient


Despite its extra power, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 is much more fuel-efficient than the Kia Sportage. Indeed, it offers an average fuel consumption rating of 9.8 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway. The Kia Sportage consumes an average of 10.8 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 9.1 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway.
