The fast rise of the Mazda3 in the Canadian automotive landscape wasn’t about luck. After quickly winning awards, many thought it would be difficult to improve the vehicle without ruining it. The Mazda3 Turbo perfectly pairs handling and performance

A turbocharged, 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine is standard across the model lineup which includes the Mazda3 GT, Mazda Sport GT, and Mazda3 100th Anniversary Edition. It produces a generous 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque on 93 octane. Even on regular unleaded gasoline, it outputs nearly 230 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The response creates a rare driving experience found in any entry-level sports sedan. 

Two engines power the Jetta lineup, but there are vast differences. Most trims receive a 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder that outputs 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. These results fall far behind the capabilities of the Mazda3 Turbo. One Jetta trim, the GLI, upgrades to a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder that matches the regular-octane level of the Turbo but lands 50-60 lb-ft short in torque. 

Each Mazda3 Turbo model includes i-Active AWD that uses advanced technology to deliver the right amount of torque to wheels that need it. The Jetta doesn’t even offer AWD anywhere in its lineup. The Mazda3 Turbo’s capabilities will make a difference on changing road surfaces in all seasons.  

The 2021 Mazda3 Turbo offers new technology

The Mazda3 Turbo features Mazda’s i-Activesense that includes safety advancements such as Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist and much more. 

Buyers can opt for the Premium Package that offers new safety technologies that are not available on the Jetta. Traffic Jam Assist, Smart Brake Support Rear Crossing, Smart Brake Support Rear and more lead the exciting additions. It’s important to have the best choice of technologies available. 

Moreover, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, aluminum speaker grilles, leather-wrapped shift knob, leather seat upholstery and heated front seats are all standard on the GT Turbo models making it a more refined compact than the Jetta.
