2023 Mazda CX-5 vs. 2023 Honda CR-V : The CX-5 Outranks the CR-V Yet Again

The CX-5 is the sport/luxury member of the compact SUV segment. Mazda has been perfecting it for years, and even though rivals try to emulate its performance and dynamic capabilities, the CX-5 always leaps ahead with more. The CX-5 recently received new exterior elements, improved vehicle dynamics, and standard AWD on every trim.

Here, we look at the updated CX-5 and how it compares to the 2023 Honda CR-V.

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 delivers unparalleled style

In terms of style, the CX-5 stands out of the pack with ultimate refinement. While other compact SUVs like the CR-V look bland and copy each other’s styling cues, the CX-5 features unique exterior elements that enable it to compete with compact luxury crossovers. Inside, the CX-5 uses only the best in terms of materials and textures, elevating the driving experience for the driver, but also for the passengers who benefit from maximum space and commodities.

The 2023 CX-5 also has a quieter cabin than the CR-V from better frame rigidity, which reduces noise and vibrations.

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is more powerful and provides enhances drivability

Under the hood, the CX-5 offers two powertrains that provide buyers with solid, everyday power and drivability. This includes the 2.5 L four-cylinder engine that generates 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The CR-V’s base option is a notoriously unreliable turbo four-cylinder that outputs similar amounts of power, but with less torque at 179 lb-ft of torque.

The CX-5 also has its own available turbocharged option. This state-of-the-art 2.5L design generates up to 256 horsepower and a road-gripping 320 lb-ft of torque, leaving its competitor behind.

The CR-V does have a new hybrid variant. But this one hasn’t seen real world conditions yet, and it only outputs 204 horsepower.

Canadian roads also demand the most from vehicles, that’s why all CX-5s include standard AWD. However, AWD is not offered on all CR-V grades.

The 2023 CX-5 also includes Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive). This advanced driving mode system enables you to tackle all types of surfaces with the best calibration.

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is still ahead of the CR-V in terms of style, performance and refinement. Come see it today. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
