2023 Mazda3 gets improved efficiency and performance

The 2023 Mazda3 arrives on the market this fall in the Sport hatchback version with the sedan arriving a little bit later. The new 2023 Mazda3 will continue to be offered with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, and a total of nine configurations will be offered on the popular Mazda sedan.

The 2023 Mazda3 will start at just $21,600 for the sedan with the hatchback being just $1,000 more. All-wheel drive 2023 Mazda3 models start at $27,900 for the sedan or $28,900 for the hatchback, while the top-of-the-line GT Turbo and its ridiculously powerful 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with up to 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque will start at just $36,100.

Improved efficiency for the 2023 Mazda3

The 2023 Mazda3 has received considerable changes this year. These changes begin under the hood where the standard 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque now features improved fuel economy. That said, the most significant changes can be found on models equipped with the 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine.

These models now offer 191 horsepower to go along with 186 pound-feet of torque. The most significant change made to these models, however, is that they are now more efficient. The 2.5-litre SKYACTIV-G engine will indeed deliver an average fuel consumption rating of just 8.7 L per 100 km in the city, and 6.4 L per 100 km on the highway.

The 2023 Mazda3 isn't just more efficient, it also delivers more value with a long list of advanced safety and connectivity features. Every new Mazda3 gets the complete suite of I-Activesense active safety technologies as well as advanced blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. The Mazda3 also features the full suite of Mazda Connected services as well as the Mazda Connect  infotainment system which is housed in an 8.8-inch centre screen. Comparing the 2026 Mazda CX-90 MHEV GT and Signature Trims: Is the Upgrade Worth It for Burnaby Families?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 MHEV lineup spans five trim levels, and for buyers who have already narrowed the search to Mazda's flagship three-row crossover, the decision most commonly comes down to two: the GT and the Signature.
