2025 Mazda CX-90 Pricing and Updates: Enhanced Features for Canadian Drivers

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 arrives with thoughtful updates designed to enhance the customer experience. This latest iteration of Mazda's flagship SUV offers a range of seating configurations and interior options, catering to diverse needs and preferences. The CX-90 will be available at Canadian dealerships later this summer, with a starting MSRP of $45,900.

Enhanced Interior and Seating Options

The 2025 CX-90 provides flexibility in seating arrangements, accommodating up to eight passengers. Buyers can choose between various configurations, including second-row captain's chairs, for a more luxurious feel. The interior craftsmanship has been elevated, with premium trims featuring Nappa leather options and Maple Wood accents, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance.

Advanced Performance and Efficiency

Mazda offers two powertrain options for the CX-90: MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle) and PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) models. The MHEV variants feature the e-Skyactiv G 3.3 Turbo engine, paired with the M-Hybrid Boost system for improved efficiency and responsiveness. This powertrain delivers 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque in standard form, with a high-output version producing 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.

The PHEV model combines a 2.5-litre engine with an electric motor and a 17.8kWh battery, generating 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. It offers an all-electric range of up to 42 kilometres, providing flexibility for daily commutes.

The MHEV models' efficiency ratings are impressive. The standard version achieves 9.9 L/100km city, 8.4 L/100km highway, and 9.3 L/100km combined. The high-output variant returns 10.3 L/100km city, 8.5 L/100km highway, and 9.5 L/100km combined.

Towing capacity has been improved, with MHEV models now capable of towing up to 5,000 lbs when properly equipped. The new Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) system includes a Towing mode, enhancing the CX-90's versatility.

Cutting-Edge Technology and Infotainment

The 2025 CX-90 features a 12.3-inch display for the Mazda Connect infotainment system, offering wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The system now includes touch screen capability when using these smartphone interfaces, improving user experience and convenience.

Additional technology features include wireless phone charging and Mazda Connected Services, which allow remote monitoring and control of the vehicle through the MyMazda app. The Bose premium audio system with 12 speakers, available on higher trims, delivers an immersive sound experience.

Safety Features and Innovations

The CX-90 maintains its IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, reflecting Mazda's commitment to occupant protection. The 2025 model introduces new safety technologies, including Cruise, Traffic Support, and Emergency lane-keeping. These features complement the existing i-Activsense suite, which includes Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Lane Departure Warning.

Higher trims benefit from additional safety enhancements, such as a 360° View Monitor, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and Driver Monitoring, which provide comprehensive protection for all occupants.

Exterior Design and Styling Enhancements

The 2025 CX-90 retains its captivating design while introducing subtle updates. New wheel designs, including 21-inch options on higher trims, enhance the vehicle's presence. LED lighting features, including signature and adaptive front lighting systems, improve visibility and style.

Distinctive elements like the black honeycomb grille and Inline 6 fender badge on MHEV models emphasize the CX-90's performance credentials. Practical features such as the hands-free power liftgate and rain-sensing windshield wipers add convenience to the ownership experience.

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 builds upon its predecessor's strengths, offering enhanced versatility, performance, and technology. With its range of seating configurations, advanced powertrains, and comprehensive safety features, the CX-90 caters to the diverse needs of Canadian drivers.
