2025 Mazda MX-5: Pricing and Specs for the Roadster Revealed

Mazda Canada has released pricing and packaging details for the 2025 Mazda MX-5, further establishing its reputation as a lightweight, high-performance roadster. Offering precise handling, modern technology, and an engaging driving experience, the MX-5 stands out as a top choice for enthusiasts.

Performance and Engineering

The 2025 MX-5's heart is the 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G engine, which delivers 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed manual transmission (standard) or a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters (available on higher trims), which provides thrilling acceleration and razor-sharp response.

Mazda’s Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) system enhances cornering by applying slight braking to the inner rear wheel during high-g turns. This feature minimizes body roll and improves handling precision, making the MX-5 feel like an extension of the driver’s body.

Trims and Features

The 2025 MX-5 is available in soft-top and retractable fastback (RF) configurations in various trims. Each model features features tailored to performance and comfort.

MX-5 GS
The GS, the entry-level trim, starts at $35,100 and is offered exclusively as a soft-top with a manual transmission. Standard features include 17-inch black alloy wheels, a black cloth top, LED headlights and taillights, and a six-speaker audio system with headrest speakers. Safety systems like Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Lane Departure Warning are also included.

MX-5 GS-P
Priced at $39,100 for the soft-top and $42,100 for the RF version, the GS-P trim adds sport-tuned Bilstein dampers, a front shock tower brace, and an LSD (manual models). Comfort upgrades include heated seats and a Bose nine-speaker premium audio system. A Sport Package, priced at $43,500 for the soft-top and $46,500 for the RF, adds Brembo brakes, BBS forged wheels, and Recaro seats.

MX-5 GT
The GT trim enhances the MX-5’s premium appeal with features like wireless Apple CarPlay, a navigation system, and leather-trimmed seats. The soft-top GT is priced at $42,200, while the RF version starts at $45,200. Additional safety features include the Adaptive Front-lighting System and Traffic Sign Recognition.

MX-5 RF GT Grand Sport Package
Available exclusively as an RF model, the Grand Sport Package adds Tan Nappa leather seats, Brembo brakes, and gunmetal BBS forged wheels. Priced at $48,800, this package combines luxurious touches with high-performance upgrades.

Special 35th Anniversary Edition

Celebrating the MX-5’s legacy, the 35th Anniversary Edition features an Artisan Red exterior, beige convertible top, and a refined tan leather interior. This limited model will debut at the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona, paying homage to Mazda’s motorsport heritage.
