What's New for 2026

Mazda added three new plug-in hybrid trims (GS SC, GS-L SC, and Signature PHEV), providing more entry points into the electrified lineup. All 2026 models feature gloss black Mazda emblems and black rear badges. A new Deep Crystal Blue Mica paint finish joins the palette on GT and GT-P trims.

Two Powertrains, Different Priorities

The mild hybrid (MHEV) uses a 3.3L inline-six turbo on regular fuel, producing 280 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque across all MHEV trims, returning 9.3 L/100 km combined. All MHEV models include standard all-wheel drive and 5,000 lb (2,268 kg) towing capacity.

The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) pairs a 2.5L engine with an electric motor for 323 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. It offers 43-51 km of electric-only range depending on trim, covering most daily commutes without burning fuel. The Mi-Drive system includes EV mode and Charge Mode buttons for battery management control.

Trim Breakdown: Who Each Model Is For

GS-L (MHEV) at $49,750 includes leatherette seating, 10-way power driver's seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, hands-free power liftgate, 12.3-inch centre display, and eight-speaker audio. This is the entry point for the inline-six experience.

GS SC (PHEV) at $52,750 adds the plug-in hybrid powertrain with 51 km of electric range while maintaining the leatherette interior. Ideal for buyers wanting electric commuting capability without premium materials.

GS-L SC (PHEV) at $56,750 upgrades to leather seating, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, eight-way power passenger seat, windshield-projected Active Driving Display, retractable rear sunshades, and front and rear parking sensors. The sweet spot for PHEV buyers wanting a refined interior.

GT starts at $54,350 (MHEV) and $61,350 (PHEV). Adds power-sliding panoramic moonroof, Bose 12-speaker audio, Alexa Built-in, leather-trimmed seating (MHEV) or Nappa leather upholstery (PHEV), 360° View Monitor, front parking sensors, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Driver Monitoring. The PHEV version offers 43 km of electric range and Trailer Hitch View.

GT-P (MHEV) at $58,300 features the 3.3L inline-six (280 hp / 332 lb-ft), black Nappa leather upholstery, black headliner, refined metallic accents, and Emergency Lane Keeping with Blind Spot Assist. Optional Garnet Red Nappa Leather interior package available.

Signature tops the lineup at $62,300 (MHEV) and $68,300 (PHEV). Features Windsor Tan Nappa Leather, Grand Luxe Suede dashboard and door panels, dark Arbor accents, two-tone steering wheel, 360° View Monitor with See-Through View, Driver Personalization System, and 150-W AC power outlet. The full luxury experience with optional plug-in hybrid efficiency.

Technology and Infotainment

Every CX-70 includes a 12.3-inch Mazda Connect display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. GS SC uses an eight-speaker system; GT and above upgrade to Bose 12-speaker premium audio. Wireless phone charging is standard on GS-L and above. GT trims add Alexa Built-in, Mazda Online Navigation, and SiriusXM satellite radio.

The windshield-projected Active Driving Display appears on GS-L SC, GT, GT-P, and Signature trims. The Driver Personalization System on Signature remembers seat, mirror, and climate settings.

Safety and Driver Assistance

GT trims add Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Cruising & Traffic Support, Driver Monitoring, Front Cross Traffic Alert, and 360° View Monitor.

GT-P and Signature include Emergency Lane Keeping with Blind Spot Assist (GT-P) or Head-On Avoidance Assist (Signature), plus Smart Brake Support with Front Crossing and Turn-Across Traffic detection. Signature adds 360° View Monitor with See-Through View, digitally removing the hood to show obstacles directly ahead.

Interior Space and Cargo

The CX-70 seats five with 1,122-1,131 litres of cargo space behind the second row. Fold the second row flat for 2,132-2,147 litres - enough for furniture or camping gear. Hands-free power liftgate is standard on GS-L and above, with remote-folding rear seats for easy cargo expansion.

Exterior Design and Wheels

All 2026 models feature gloss black Mazda emblems and black rear badges. GS-L and GS SC ride on 19-inch dark grey high lustre metallic alloy wheels; GT and above get 21-inch machined alloy wheels. Piano-black front grille, roof rails, and LED signature lighting are standard. GT trims add automatic power folding and auto-dimming side mirrors, plus blacked-out door handles and pillar garnishes.

Premium paint options include Soul Red Crystal Metallic ($500), Machine Grey Metallic ($400), Rhodium White Metallic ($400), Melting Copper Metallic ($300), Polymetal Grey Metallic ($300), and Zircon Sand Metallic ($300).
