Mazda Introduces the Innovative 2025 CX-70

Mazda has unveiled the 2025 CX-70, a new entrant in the midsize, two-row crossover category, marking the brand's strategic re-entry into this segment. Drawing inspiration from the discontinued CX-7, the CX-70 is closely aligned with the CX-90, sharing essential underpinnings and powertrain technologies while establishing its distinct identity.

The CX-70 boasts a commanding presence with its broad, low-profile stance and expansive front grille, enhanced by modern, sporty details including contrasting black trim and available 21-inch wheels, mirroring the eye-catching appeal of the CX-90.

Inside, the CX-70 offers a spacious, comfortable, and slightly sporty cabin environment. The interior, potentially accented with red Nappa leather and red stitching reminiscent of the 100th Anniversary Special Edition MX-5, radiates a vibrant yet refined feel. Functionality is emphasized with convenient features such as remote-folding rear seats and a thoughtfully designed cargo space to accommodate the demands of active lifestyles.

Mazda emphasizes the fusion of driving enjoyment with practical daily use in the CX-70. Constructed on Mazda's large vehicle platform, this ensures not just a spacious cabin but also supports an array of sophisticated powertrains. With a focus on electrification, each engine option integrates electric elements to boost performance and efficiency. Options include an e-SkyActiv G 3.3L inline-six turbo engine with M-Hybrid Boost and an e-SkyActiv G PHEV system, similar to those available in the CX-90, though it remains to be seen if the CX-70 will offer the same engine configurations as its larger counterpart.

The CX-70 is also equipped with cutting-edge technology aimed at enhancing the driving experience and ensuring safety. Among these features is the Unresponsive Driver Support system, a crucial component of the Cruising and Traffic Support suite designed to intervene in emergency situations. Furthermore, the CX-70 introduces Amazon Alexa integration, a first for Mazda's crossover lineup, facilitating a more seamless and focused driving experience through voice commands.

With its debut, the 2025 CX-70 is expected to make a significant impact in the highly competitive midsize two-row SUV market, exemplifying Mazda's dedication to delivering vehicles that combine premium quality with functional practicality.

Mazda will announce pricing details as the launch date approaches, expected to be in the summer.

How the 2026 Mazda CX-5's Larger Cargo Area Handles Weekend Errands and Getaways from Burnaby

The all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5 is a full third-generation redesign, and one of the most practical changes is how much more cargo space it now offers. The previous model was a strong seller in British Columbia — over 300,000 CX-5s have been sold across Canada since 2012 — but tight rear cargo dimensions were a consistent point of feedback from owners. Mazda addressed that directly with the 2026...
