Mazda Releases Pricing Details for 2024 CX-50 Lineup

Exploring the Configurations and Features of Mazda's Rugged Crossover SUV

Mazda Canada Inc. has officially unveiled the pricing for its eagerly anticipated 2024 Mazda CX-50. Designed to suit the active North American lifestyle, this rugged crossover SUV promises to empower its drivers with the confidence to embrace both urban roads and off-road adventures.

Starting at an MSRP of $39,300, the base model, CX-50 GS-L, seamlessly combines Mazda's hallmark on-road driving dynamics and a sophisticated aesthetic. Those seeking a bit more power can opt for the turbocharged version at $46,750. For individuals keen on exclusivity, the Mazda CX-50 Turbo Meridian Edition is priced at $49,250.

Under the hood, buyers have a choice between two robust engines: a Skyactiv-G 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, churning out 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, and a turbocharged variant of the same engine. The latter, when fuelled with premium 93 octane gas, delivers an impressive 256 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Both these engines are paired with a quick-shifting Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission.

The CX-50 is not just about power. It's also about versatility. Every model comes equipped with i-Activ All-Wheel Drive (AWD) technology and Mazda's Intelligent Drive Select, or Mi-Drive, which includes Sport and Off-road modes. Some models even offer an advanced Tow Mode, supporting loads of up to 1,588 kg (3,500 lbs).

Diving into the specifics, the entry-level GS-L variant boasts a suite of premium features. These range from a power-sliding panoramic moonroof and an impressive Mazda Harmonic Acoustics audio system to the convenience of Mazda's Connect infotainment system. Externally, the GS-L stands out with 17-inch black metallic alloy wheels and LED headlights, ensuring a commanding road presence.

Safety is at the forefront of the CX-50's design. The i-Activsense safety suite, standard across all models, incorporates a variety of features like Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control, among others.

For those seeking more luxury, the CX-50 GT offers upgraded interiors, including a Bose 12-speaker premium audio system and a unique terracotta leather colour option. This variant also introduces a windshield-projected Active Driving Display and a 360° View Monitor.

The GT Turbo takes performance to the next level. Apart from a powerful turbocharged engine, it has steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and distinctive Turbo badging.

Lastly, the Meridian Edition, inspired by the adventurous spirit of the CX-50 2.5 Turbo, showcases exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, distinctive hood graphics, and a selection of outdoor-centric accessories. Adventurous souls can also opt for the Apex Package, featuring a roof platform, splash guards, and more.

It should be noted that the mentioned MSRP excludes additional fees like $1,950 for freight & PDE, taxes, and title.
