The 2024 Mazda CX-90 vs. Acura MDX: Which One Wins?

On the other hand, the Acura MDX offers a 3.5-litre V6 engine that produces 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque while the MDX Type S’ turbocharged V6 generates 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Output-wise, not only do the Mazda’s engine provide considerably more torque but they are far more fuel-efficient. The CX-90's engine options are far more advanced and by quite a margin.
Premium Interior and Features:
Both the Mazda CX-90 and Acura MDX have premium interiors, but the CX-90's interior stands out as being more luxurious. CX-90 buyers have access to Nappa leather seating, which is not available on the Acura MDX. This is just one sign that Mazda takes premium and luxury very seriously. Fit, finish, and materials used throughout the cabin are exquisite – based on the impression alone, one could be forgiven for thinking they are sitting in a $100,000 exclusive SUV.
Comfort and luxury go hand-in-hand, and comfort equals space. The Mazda CX-90 offers more headroom and more usable trunk space when the third row is stowed.
Value:
Both the Mazda CX-90 and Acura MDX are in the luxury SUV category, but the CX-90 offers better value for buyers. When comparing equally-priced models, the CX-90 buyer drives away with more. A base CX-90 offers similar interior features to the Acura MDX, yet it's still priced lower. All of these factors make the Mazda CX-90 the better value.
The 2024 Mazda CX-90 takes the lead when compared to the Acura MDX based on powertrain selection, premium interior and features, and value. The CX-90's engine options provide more power and torque, and the interior just feels more luxurious overall.
