This is the all-new 2023 Mazda CX-50

Mazda introduced a brand-new sport utility vehicle a few weeks ago which will be coming to North America in 2022. The new 2023 Mazda CX-50 will begin production in January and will arrive on the market in the middle of next year.  This new rugged sport utility vehicle will slot within the Mazda CX-30 and Mazda CX-5 lines.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is a different kind of Mazda sport utility vehicle.  It is designed for buyers who are looking for their next adventure and they want a vehicle that will take them there. The 2023 CX-50 features a rugged look and a longer wheelbase than a Mazda CX-5. It is also lower, and it comes with integrated roof rails which can be used to transport your outdoor equipment. It also gets stylish body cladding and tires that can venture off the beaten path.

Mazda didn't provide too much information on the specs of the 2023 CX-50, but we do know that it will be offered with either the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated 4 cylinder or the 2.5 L turbocharged engine which offers up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.

"This new Mazda vehicle has been developed for North America, particularly to support the active and outdoor lifestyles of customers in this region," Jeff Guyton, President and CEO of Mazda North American Operations said. "The CX-50 encourages people to immerse themselves in nature without compromising on the premium design and outstanding on-road performance Mazda is known for."

Comparing the 2026 Mazda CX-90 MHEV GT and Signature Trims: Is the Upgrade Worth It for Burnaby Families?

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 MHEV lineup spans five trim levels, and for buyers who have already narrowed the search to Mazda's flagship three-row crossover, the decision most commonly comes down to two: the GT and the Signature.
