Three things to know about the new electric Mazda MX-30

Mazda took advantage of the Tokyo Motor Show to present its first mass production electric vehicle, the Mazda MX-30. It's not an electric vehicle like the others, though. Here are three things to know about the new Mazda MX-30 electric vehicle.

For starters, we do not yet know the range of the Mazda MX-30, but we know that it will be fully electric and powered by a 35.5-kWh battery. This should give it enough juice for more than 200 kilometres.

There are rumours that Mazda wants to equip the Mazda MX-30 with a range extender that could add greater range through an optional rotary gasoline engine.

The Mazda MX-30 also uses other elements of Mazda's old rotary-engined vehicles, such as rear-opening rear doors built into the body. It also offers a brand-new cockpit that’s really impressive with a new, fully digital center console.

The Mazda MX-30 will arrive next year in Canada. Contact us today to find out more!

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 MHEV lineup spans five trim levels, and for buyers who have already narrowed the search to Mazda's flagship three-row crossover, the decision most commonly comes down to two: the GT and the Signature.
