Three Ways the new Mazda CX-30 Can Tackle Winter

The stylish CX-30 features the lines of a coupe with the versatility of an SUV. Although compact in class, everything seems to live large inside and outside of the CX-30. Owners enjoy a wide palette of premium features, innovative safety technologies, available i-Activ AWD and generous new vehicle warranties.

The CX-30 is also a great vehicle to drive in all seasons, including winter. Here, we share how it takes on the most challenging season of the year.

i-Activ All-Wheel Drive helps create a path in winter

Mazda makes available an advanced drivetrain that features all-wheel drive. Called i-Active AWD, it adds more performance and safety in a variety of conditions, including winter. Connected to 27 sensors, it monitors road conditions and vehicle behavior 200 times per second. Not much gets by this system—even wiper use!

When i-Activ AWD detects wheel slippage, it transfers power and torque to wheels that have traction. This is important on slippery roads, so your CX-30 stays on the path it's supposed to be on. When on dry roads, slight distribution changes in torque enhance performance.

i-Activ AWD also does its share to conserve fuel. For example, when the CX-30 is at highway speed in dry conditions, it distributes power to the front wheels since it isn't necessary to distribute it to all four.

The new Mazda CX-30 offers i-Activsense for added safety

Proactive safety systems offer additional help in detecting hazards and that can be of assistance during the winter months. The CX-30 offers i-Activsense, a large suite of driver assistance technology that monitors areas around the vehicle and alerts and/or intervenes at signs of danger.

This system includes systems like Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Smart City Brake Support Front, Rear Crossing, Pedestrian Detection, Distance Recognition Support System, Forward Obstruction Warning, Lane Departure Warning System, Traffic Sign Recognition System, Driver Attention Alert and many more.

Winter reliability in the new Mazda CX-30

The CX-30 is built to last, and you can have a peace of mind when driving on long trips during the winter. Mazda backs the CX-30 with Mazda Unlimited, which is an unlimited mileage warranty program that offers up to seven years of protection.

The Mazda CX-30 is a great vehicle all year, but its technologies make it an exceptional winter vehicle. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your questions.

How the 2026 Mazda CX-5's Larger Cargo Area Handles Weekend Errands and Getaways from Burnaby

The all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5 is a full third-generation redesign, and one of the most practical changes is how much more cargo space it now offers. The previous model was a strong seller in British Columbia — over 300,000 CX-5s have been sold across Canada since 2012 — but tight rear cargo dimensions were a consistent point of feedback from owners. Mazda addressed that directly with the 2026...
